Configuration Model

The Preferences screen stores the user's working defaults in local UserDefaults. It is the place to tune the app theme, the register display format, the default register family, monitoring behavior and the starting scope of History and Site Automation screens.

Theme offers System, Light and Dark. System follows the current device appearance; Light and Dark force the corresponding app appearance. The selected theme applies immediately across PlcConsole.

Haptic Feedback controls PlcConsole's own tactile feedback for selected actions such as executing, stopping, deleting and adjusting supported controls. It applies on iPhone and iPad; the same setting is harmless on platforms without haptic hardware.

Enable Prevent Sleep While Monitoring when PlcConsole should keep the device available during an active Watchlist, a running batch or automatic sensor refresh. On iPhone and iPad, this prevents auto-lock only while the app is active. It does not keep monitoring running in the background.

The setting does not affect one-off reads, writes, control actions, diagnostics or dashboard refreshes. Those operations finish normally without requesting sleep prevention.

Value Display sets the initial display format for register-oriented screens: Decimal, Hexadecimal or Binary. A screen can provide its own temporary format control, so changing this setting supplies the default rather than overriding an explicit local choice.

Default Family selects the register family offered initially when opening supported register tools. It affects input defaults only; it does not read, write or alter any PLC register.

Watchlist Interval controls the delay between reads after you start Watch in the Watchlist screen. Available intervals are 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s and 60s. It does not start monitoring by itself.

Prioritize Site Automation in Tab Bar moves the Site Automation tab immediately after Dashboard, keeping it visible on compact tab bars. It is off by default, so the standard tab order remains unchanged until you enable it.

Default Zone chooses the initial Site Automation scope: All zones or only Favorites. It does not select a particular named zone. Default Device Filter chooses whether the device collection initially shows All, Controls, Sensors or Favorites.

Auto-refresh Visible Sensors periodically refreshes only sensor tiles currently visible in the active Site Automation screen. The active site, selected zone scope and device filter determine what is visible. Refresh stops when the app leaves the active foreground, when no matching sensors are visible or when the option is disabled.

Enable auto-refresh before choosing its interval. Available intervals are 2s, 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s and 60s; the interval control remains unavailable while automatic refresh is off.

Rows per Page sets History pagination to 5, 10 or 25 commands. Show Protocol Details reveals captured PLC request and response ASCII details when an entry contains them. The stored command count shows how many command records are currently kept on this device.

Clear Command History removes all locally stored command records after confirmation. It is disabled when there is no history to remove and does not change PLC profiles, site settings or PLC data.

Select About to view the current PlcConsole version, author and support email address. It also states the app's intended use: working with Fatek PLC FBs Series devices through short-lived commands and locally stored connection profiles. Use Done to return to Preferences.
